Message from Dean

Prof. Dubi Nanda Dhakal, PhD

It is my great pleasure to extend my warm greetings to faculties, staff and students on behalf of the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Humanities, and Social Sciences (FoHSS), Tribhuvan University. FoHSS is one of the diverse faculties in terms of ranges of subjects it offers. FoHSS offers courses from Bachelor (undergraduate) to Master’s, MPhil, and PhD programs. It is marching towards maintaining the standard of quality in teaching and research.

The subjects cover a wide ranges of humanities, such as languages and literature, fine arts (painting, music, sculpture), to subjects in social sciences, such as Sociology, Political Science, International Relation and Diplomacy among others. This faculty emphasizes to include the syllabi connected with everyday reality. The syllabi also balance the local experience in the wider theoretical contexts.

FoHSS has been constantly introducing new programs to cater the needs and demands of the nation. This faculty also offers the courses in the areas of applied sciences, such as computer application. The graduates from this faculty serve the nation in different occupations. FoHSS is committed to provide an intellectually stimulating environment for productive learning in the specified areas. I request you all for support, cooperation and constructive suggestions for promoting the subjects in the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences.
